1. Introduction

As 4-River Civilization arises from the river, a river is mothers milk and it is blood of civilization. From the last the 8th of June, Korea government has started re-developing major cities based on a 4 big river restoration project for national growth during 21 century. Basically, the 4 river project is not a remarkable project by Korea government only for economic growth but also environmental development. Here are details of environmental development through the project for water quality, water ecology, and drinking water.

Korea government plans to secure water resources to be against the climate change because an amount of water shortage would be constantly increased to 1 billion m³ by 2016.
